Job summary

HRI, Inc. is seeking a Screed Operator to safely control paving operations, ensuring consistent speed and uniform material placement at the required depth, width, and slope. This hourly, safety-sensitive role works with a Paver Operator and dumpman under supervision.

Candidates should have basic math skills, read measurements, and complete PennDOT Flagger Training. Prior paving experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is recommended.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills to calculate and maintain yield and measuring abilities.
• Able to read measurements accurately to verify depth, slope and width.
• Must successfully complete PennDOT Flagger Training Course or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate screed and maintain paving speed and uniform head of material to spec.
• Perform pre-shift and end-of-shift inspections of screed and components.
• Monitor depth, slope and width with tools and verify alignment/width.
• Communicate continuously with Paver Operator and dumpman during material flow and site conditions.
• Set up and tear down traffic control devices and safely operate a company vehicle.
• Adhere to paving safety rules and demonstrate reliability on schedule.
