Job summary

Radius Recycling, Inc. seeks a Truck Scale Operator to weigh and grade incoming scrap, operate in-bound and out-bound scales, and guide customers to unloading areas while assisting with payment processing in a safe, efficient manner.

Must understand metals identification per ISRI specs, deliver strong customer service, and communicate pricing to production crews while upholding Health, Safety, and Environmental policies across the yard.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED Certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role or scrap industry preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers and other employees required.
• Mathematical and problem solving skills, basic negotiation skills, attention to detail, and basic typing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade incoming scrap loads on the scales.
• Direct customers to unloading areas and coordinate with office for purchasing transactions.
• Compute ticket totals for payment and communicate pricing to production crews and customers.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and internal controls.
