Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience in synthesis and purification from coursework, research, or industry.
• Ability to handle moderately complex work with minimal direction from senior scientists.
• Careful, thorough documentation habits and attention to detail.
• Clear communication of techniques and ability to help others build skills.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize and purify materials using established SOPs and develop purification/derivatization procedures.
• Develop and manufacture materials using current synthesis and purification methods to meet quality and demand.
• Design and run process improvement experiments; collect data and improve products/processes.
• Document experiments and write reports; share progress through monthly reports and staff meetings.
• Serve as a technical resource for Operations Technicians; train others and keep SOPs current.
• Participate in Job Safety Analysis and follow EH&S guidelines to ensure lab safety.
