We are seeking an in vivo scientist to design and execute the tumor efficacy studies that drive atida bio's antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) pipeline. You will run cell-line-derived xenograft and PK/PD studies end to end, with a particular focus on dose-range finding and dose-fractionation studies that define how our molecules should be dosed and scheduled.
This is a vivarium-based role for someone with excellent technical skills who takes pride in clean, reproducible data. You will handle tumor implantation, dosing, tumor and body-weight monitoring and terminal sample collection, and you will work closely with program leads, DMPK and discovery teams to make sure each study answers the question it was designed to answer. Strong candidates bring hands on rodent oncology experience and the judgment to flag issues before they compromise a study.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute in vivo efficacy, PK/PD and dose-range-finding studies in rodent models, including xenograft, syngeneic and transgenic models relevant to our programs.
- Administer test articles by multiple routes (IV, IP and SC,) with accurate dosing and maintain precise dosing records.
- Collect in-life data and monitor animal health, recognizing and escalating clinical observations promptly.
- Perform terminal procedures and collect blood and tissue samples for PK/PD and biomarker analysis.
Dose-range finding and dose fractionation
- Design and execute dose-range-finding (DRF) studies to define active and tolerated dose levels for ADC candidates.
- Run dose-fractionation studies that compare dose level versus schedule, helping distinguish exposure-driven from schedule-driven activity and tolerability.
- Partner with program leads and DMPK to align dosing and sampling schedules so efficacy, exposure and tolerability read out cleanly from the same study.
Data, compliance and operations
- Record, plot and summarize tumor-growth and body-weight data; generate clear data presentation and study summaries.
- Maintain meticulous study documentation and data integrity and ensure all work is conducted in compliance with IACUC, animal welfare, biosafety and institutional policies.
- Manage study logistics — cell-line readiness, animal ordering and acclimation, dosing formulations and scheduling.
- Contribute to SOPs and help improve in vivo workflows and reproducibility.
- Contribute in vivo sections to candidate nomination packages, regulatory documents and publications.
Qualifications:
Required
- Hands-on experience with rodent oncology models in a biotech, pharma or CRO setting: BS/MS with 2–4 years or PhD with 2+ years.
- Experience independently designing and running in vivo efficacy studies, PK/PD and dose-range-finding studies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in rodent handling, tumor implantation, multi-route dosing (IV, IP, PO, SC, IM), tumor measurement, serial blood and tissue collection, clinical observations and terminal procedures.
- Strong record-keeping, attention to detail and comfort with data entry and basic analysis (e.g., ELN, Excel, GraphPad Prism).
- A genuine commitment to animal welfare and the 3Rs.
- Strong written and verbal communication, shown through publications or presentations.
Strongly preferred
- Familiarity with ADCs, biologics or other oncology modalities.
- Experience with orthotopic or other advanced models, in vivo imaging and electronic in vivo study-management or data-capture software.
- History of managing CRO-run studies and budgets.
- Experience writing or amending IACUC (or equivalent) protocols.
- Breeding and colony-management experience.
Core Competencies
- Reliable in vivo technical skills and steady hands under a busy study schedule.
- Scientific curiosity and a strong instinct for data quality and integrity — notices when results don't add up and asks why.
- Sound judgment — flags problems early rather than pushing through a compromised study.
- Dependable teammate who communicates clearly with program leads and cross-functional partners.
- Organized and adaptable in a fast-moving, milestone-driven environment.
