Job summary

Monte Rosa Therapeutics, Inc is seeking a Senior Research Associate I/II to design and execute in vivo proof-of-concept studies across oncology and inflammatory disease programs. You will work in our AAALAC-accredited Animal Care Facility and support dosing, sample collection, and data reporting, with occasional evenings/weekends as protocols require.

Strong background in in vivo techniques and cell culture is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in biology, pharmacology, animal science or related field with at least four years of industry experience.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory animals and multi-route dosing.
• Experience preparing compound formulations and dose calculations.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends as study needs require.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative work across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform in vivo procedures in mice including dosing and sample collection.

Overview

Monte Rosa Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Research Associate I/II to support the design and execution of in vivo proof-of-concept studies across oncology, inflammatory disease, and autoimmune disease programs. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this individual will execute in vivo pharmacology studies designed to characterize the activity and mechanism of action of novel compounds. The successful candidate will work in our AAALAC-accredited Animal Care Facility and provide occasional evening and weekend study support, including animal dosing, as required by study protocols. The position level will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform in vivo technical procedures in mice, including: o Administration of test agents by oral, intraperitoneal, and subcutaneous routes; o Blood collection using multiple sampling methods or anatomical sites; o Tissue collection and necropsy procedures based on study requirements; o Preparation of compound formulations for dosing; o Calculation of dose volumes and compound and formulation requirements
• Design and conduct in vivo studies to characterize target biology and assess compound activity in disease-relevant mouse models.
• Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records, study documentation, procedures, and data summaries.
• Perform evening and weekend animal dosing and other study-related procedures, as needed.
• Perform and document animal health assessments in accordance with approved IACUC protocols, institutional procedures, and animal-welfare standards, and promptly report any identified concerns.
• Process time-sensitive biological samples according to study requirements.
• Assist with oversight of breeding programs, including monitoring litters and documenting outcomes.
• Provide occasional support for cage changes and husbandry activities, as needed.
• Perform cell culture work to support tumor studies for oncology programs.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Biology, Pharmacology, Animal Science, or related field with a minimum of four years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong hands-on experience working with laboratory animals, including test-agent administration by multiple routes, blood and tissue collection, and necropsy techniques.
• Prior experience safely preparing compound formulations and performing dose calculations is required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on study needs.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate study records.
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new laboratory and sample-processing techniques.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
• Experience culturing mammalian cell lines is preferred.
• Experience performing pharmacodynamic assays using mouse tissues, including Western blotting, ELISA or MSD immunoassays , is a plus but not required.
• AALAS certification at the ALAT level is preferred. LVT certification is a plus.
• Experience with surgical techniques is a plus.
