Job summary

Profluent is seeking a Scientist II to advance non-viral delivery methods for recombinase-based large gene insertion in mammalian cells. You will lead experiments, analyze data, and collaborate across AI and biology teams to enable new therapeutic opportunities.

Qualifications

  • PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related field with 2–4 years of experience.
  • Proven track record in gene editing, in vivo delivery, or protein engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with nucleic acid delivery and mammalian cell engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and benchmarking of non-viral donor template delivery for recombinase-based large gene insertion.
  • Design hypothesis-driven experiments to improve donor template stability and nuclear availability.
  • Develop quantitative assays to measure delivery efficiency and fidelity; connect to outcomes.
  • Analyze data and present conclusions to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Collaborate with translational teams to validate delivery approaches in relevant systems.
  • Stay updated on gene editing delivery developments and cellular models.
  • Mentor junior team members to align goals and ensure rigorous execution.
