Job summary

Air Liquide is seeking a Scientist I in Fremont, California to join the Surfaces and Materials Analysis Lab. The role focuses on trace and ultra-trace metal analysis using ICP-MS and related techniques, with opportunities to develop new methods for the semiconductor and high-tech industries.

The candidate will work under supervision to support chemists, oversee methods, and communicate results to customers while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced analytical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Chemistry or related science with 15+ years of experience or Master's with 7+ years or Ph.D. with 0–2 years experience.
• Ability to perform analysis and research with minimum supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Highly organized, disciplined, and goal oriented.
• Work safely and maintain a safe lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to chemists and non-managerial staff.
• Perform analysis and research with minimal supervision.
• Develop new analytical methods for lab capabilities.
• Prepare analysis reports and communicate results to customers.
• Publish and present analytical capabilities at conferences.
• Train lab staff on new methods.
