Job summary

ALS seeks a Metals Analyst to perform instrumental analysis of environmental samples using ICP, ICP-MS, CVAAS, and AFS. You will prepare standards, calibrate instruments, and process data while upholding quality control and safety standards.

The role requires a 4-year chemistry or related degree, strong Excel/Word skills, and ability to communicate professionally with staff and clients. Teamwork and problem solving are essential in our collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in chemistry or related field.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
• Multi-tasking, organized and detail oriented.
• Proficient English verbal and written communication.
• Able to work well in a team and solve problems.
• Laboratory environment experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare standards and reagents.
• Tune, calibrate, and run analytical sequences per SOPs.
• Operate computer software to process data.
• Troubleshoot analytical systems and non-conformities.
• Maintain accurate documentation in logbooks and bench sheets.
• Uphold quality control requirements and safe working conditions.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
