Job summary

Gelest Inc. is seeking a Senior Analytical Scientist to lead ICP-MS and trace elemental analysis across R&D, manufacturing, and quality.

You will develop, validate, transfer, and troubleshoot analytical methods for diverse chemical and polymer systems, providing technical leadership and robust data interpretation. You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to meet product quality goals, while mentoring staff and driving continuous improvement in analytical

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial analytical chemistry experience.
• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline.
• Experience in analytical method development, validation, and technology transfer.
• Strong documentation and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, transfer, and maintain analytical methods for R&D, manufacturing, quality control, and customer projects.
• Generate high-quality analytical data and technical reports using multiple techniques.
• Lead investigations, root cause analyses, and troubleshooting of products and processes.
• Evaluate new technologies and implement best practices to enhance capabilities.
• Maintain instrumentation, calibration, and service activities for data quality.
• Prepare SOPs, test methods, validation protocols, and lab documentation.
• Collaborate with universities, contract labs, vendors, and customers on projects.
• Provide technical recommendations to support product development and regulatory activities.
• Train scientists and staff on methodologies, data interpretation, and labs practices.
• Support regulatory compliance, product stewardship, and SDS generation.
• Present results to senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Support non-routine analytical requests and continuous improvement initiatives.
