Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a part-time Human Resources Intern at our Waterbury, CT facility to provide administrative and operational support to HR.

This role assists with day-to-day HR activities and projects while gaining hands-on exposure to core HR processes and the HRIS system. The internship reports to the Human Resources Manager and is designed for a candidate who can work part-time during the school year, with potential for breaks.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Human Resource Management, or related field.
• Ability to work part-time during the school year and part-time during academic breaks (preferred).
• Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred (verbal).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and support routine HR operations.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with day-to-day HR activities and projects.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and system updates.
• Maintain and update employee data in the HRIS, including organizational changes and new hires.
• Assist with recruiting activities such as job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate tracking.
• Support coordination and administration of HR training sessions.
• Update and revise job descriptions as needed.
• HR data entry and HRIS administration; HR audits and reports; compliance-related tasks; documentation of policies and procedures.
