Job summary

Toho Water Authority is seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern for Fall 2026 with potential extension into Spring 2027. You will support core HR operations and gain hands-on experience in effective HR practices that contribute to a productive workforce.

The intern will learn about employment laws, confidentiality, HR systems, and participate in projects while developing professional HR skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recent completion of an undergraduate or graduate program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License
• Familiarity with SharePoint or similar document management systems
• Experience with Canva, Adobe, or other design tools

Responsibilities

• Support HR team with day-to-day administrative tasks and HR initiatives.
• Collaborate on HR projects and assist with execution.
• Assist with job description audits and alignment with roles.
• Support recruitment: posting requisitions, scheduling interviews, candidate communication, applicant tracking.
• Coordinate onboarding materials and orientation schedules.
• Develop internal HR communications and update SharePoint sites.
• Format and standardize HR documents and records.
• Assist with annual benefits open enrollment activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
