Job Summary

The HR Intern supports the Human Resources team by assisting with day-to-day operational activities, data management, onboarding, employee experience initiatives, and process improvements. This role is ideal for a student or early career professional interested in gaining hands‑on experience in HR operations, systems, and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gain an understanding of AET’s HR department and learn what HR can do for the organization
  • Assist with maintaining and updating employee records in HRIS systems.
  • Support document management including filing, scanning, uploading, and auditing forms.
  • Help prepare HR reports, metrics, and dashboards as needed.
  • Assist with internal communication drafts—emails, newsletters, or intranet updates.
  • Participate and lead audits of employee files and HR processes.
  • Respond to basic employee inquiries or route them to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Update internal HR documentation, templates, and SOPs
  • Learn and support day to day use of HRIS, ATS, and other HR tools.
  • Assist with data entry, quality checks, and system updates.
  • Help review processes and identify opportunities for automation or streamlining.
  • Assist with various HR administration tasks.
Required Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Actively enrolled in a degree in a Human Resources program or similar programs
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to work under tight deadline schedules and float between various projects and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with a wide range of individuals
  • Effective planning, organizational and detail‑orientated skills – ability to prioritize projects and adjust workload accordingly
  • Must take initiative, be self‑motivated and an independent, accountable, dependable performer
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, with demonstrated capability in Word, Excel, PPT, Zoom, Teams and Outlook
  • Good organizational and time management skills required
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Take immediate action to overcome obstacles
  • Proactive, customer‑driven attitude
Pay Transparency

Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $20 - $21 per hour. The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
