Job summary

Durham School Services seeks an experienced operations leader to oversee student transportation services in a Central Services Center environment. You will direct driver training programs and vehicle maintenance, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across sites.

Lead a team, manage timekeeping, budgeting, and routing optimization while maintaining high service standards and ethical practices. Competitive benefits are provided, including health coverage and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 5+ years' work experience required, with 3 years in ground transportation preferred; can be waived with 1-year supervisory experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred; specifically supervising/training a driver workforce.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and transportation related software.
• Bi-lingual abilities a plus.
• Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall CSC operational leadership by directing student transportation services, driver training and vehicle maintenance programs.
• Provides staff leadership by promoting and ensuring safe, efficient and effective operations.
• Monitors staff training requirements and ensure all employees obtain the required skills and abilities to perform their job assignments.
• Sets performance expectations, coaches and counsels direct reports to meet operational goals; administers discipline when necessary.
• Ensures compliance with company policies; escalates violations to General Manager or Corporate personnel.
• Oversees compliance with state and district regulations.
• Attends meetings with School District Representatives and represents the company professionally.
• Prepares and submits customer-related reports in a timely manner.
• Documents and manages customer or employee complaints; reviews survey data.
• Responsible for knowledge of CSC contracts and operational requirements.
• Collects and audits employees' time sheets; manages hours to meet budgets.
• Reviews the daily exception report; approves expenditures per guidelines.
• Ensures effective utilization of vehicles; promotes safety and integrity.
• Oversees optimization of vehicle routing.
