Job summary

Sugar Creek Charter School — Main Campus in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee safe, timely transportation for students to and from school and approved events.

You will lead the Transportation Department, plan routes, supervise drivers and staff, ensure compliance with North Carolina laws, and coordinate with school leadership and parents to maintain service quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, logistics, and/or transportation management (Option A).
• Option B: high school diploma/GED with 10 years of transportation-related experience and 3–5 years of supervisory/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead department planning and reporting to the Chief of Operations.
• Develop, review, and maintain efficient bus routes, runs, and stops; adjust assignments as needed.
• Coordinate transportation for field trips, events, and athletic activities; confirm trip details with staff.
• Supervise drivers and office staff; recruit, onboard, and mentor transportation staff.
• Ensure safety, compliance with NC bus regulations, and timely transportation operations.
