Job summary

Gainesville City Schools is seeking a Maintenance HVAC Technician to support the Gainesville City School System’s HVAC operations. The role involves diagnosing HVAC issues, performing PMs, inspections, and installing HVAC equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment across campuses.

Under the Director of Maintenance & Operations, this full-time, on-site position requires hands-on maintenance, system monitoring, and participation in ongoing trainings and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years' relevant experience or Technical School equivalent.
• Valid Georgia Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses the cause of problems and/or failures in HVAC systems for identifying repair/replacement needs.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for district HVAC units.
• Inspect district HVAC units including discharge & room temperatures and overall conditions.
• Communicate status of work orders and procedures to personnel for informed decisions and safety compliance.
• Install heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for upgraded capabilities.
• Monitor building control systems and web-based HVAC for condition assessment and preventive maintenance.

Education
