Job summary

Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation is seeking a Building Level Technician for the High School Auxiliary Level III to support the technology team. You will handle help desk tickets, repair Chromebooks, and provide hardware/software support under the Director of Technology and the principal.

The role is 29 hours per week with a 199 or 207 day schedule, and requires strong customer service, basic network tasks, and a commitment to ongoing training, confidentiality, and safe, compliant work

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Technical skills with computer hardware and software.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to be flexible.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training to improve and/or develop job-related skills.
  • Excellent work habits, attendance record and clearances.
  • Must remain free of alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line troubleshooting, evaluation, and resolution of technical problems by resolving within fifteen minutes or submitting a work order.
  • Perform minor technical repairs or replacements to monitors, input devices, peripherals, computer cards, etc.
  • Assist end users in resolving software issues, including local software re-installation or application training.
  • Serve as the contact person to whom technical problems are reported and manage the building level work order process.
  • Provide basic network support by performing maintenance such as backup, setting up and maintaining user accounts, printer configurations, and installing networked applications.
  • Update and maintain assigned passwords and folders.
  • Document and properly communicate instances of failure, repair, installation, and removal of hardware.
  • Additional duties may include installing software ensuring legality of licensing, participation in staff development activities, responding to crises and providing aid in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and maintaining confidentiality.
