Mastery Schools in Philadelphia is hiring a Social Worker to provide direct counseling and support to students, address behavioral and emotional barriers to learning, and collaborate with families and school staff. You will manage crisis interventions, coordinate with external service providers, and help connect students to community resources, with emphasis on equity and trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or a related clinical field.
• PA licensure as LSW, LPC, or LCSW; Pennsylvania School Social Worker Certification strongly preferred.
• NJ licensure preferred; New Jersey School Social Work Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Serve as liaison between school and external service providers; coordinate student and family support.
• Manage crisis intervention and behavioral health emergencies to ensure student safety.
• Lead child welfare reporting and mandated communication with the Department of Human Services.
• Conduct home visits to assess family needs and provide targeted support.
• Support students facing grief, trauma, homelessness, pregnancy, or parenting challenges with resources.
