Job summary

Responsibilities

• Performs law enforcement duties to maintain security and order in a detention facility educational setting.
• Provide security clearance for students entering secure areas.
• Regular classroom, hallway, and office walkthroughs to ensure safety.
• Address disruptive or unexcused students and enforce rules.
• Facilitate safety drills as required.
• Inspect areas for contraband and safety breaches.
• Monitor security equipment and report issues for corrective action.
• Meet with supervisors and staff to increase student involvement.
• Coordinate weekly student success meetings and monthly parent meetings.
• Lead group discussions on law enforcement topics with students.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Sociology or related field
