Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a School Security Officer to help maintain safe, secure school environments. Under the building administrator's direction and with guidance from the Safety & Security Specialist, you will patrol campuses, monitor entrances, respond to incidents, and participate in safety drills and audits.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a Virginia driver’s license, and SSO certification within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid Virginia driver's license and DMV background check.
• SSO certification through VA DCJS or obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrol school grounds, verify safety of entrances and respond to incidents.
• Assist in maintaining a safe learning environment and support safety drills.
• Record incidents accurately and participate in safety audits and meetings.
