Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and successful completion of Georgia P.O.S.T. Basic Mandate Law Enforcement Training; a current POST certification is preferred. Salary is $58,488 per year with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• GA POST certification in good standing is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform law enforcement duties to maintain security in a detention facility educational setting.
• Provide security clearance for students entering secure areas.
• Regularly conduct classroom, hallway, and office walkthroughs.
• Address disruptive, improperly dressed, late, or absent students.
• Facilitate safety drills as required by the academy.
• Inspect areas for contraband or safety breaches after movements.
• Monitor security equipment and report any issues.
• Meet with supervisors and staff to boost student involvement.
• Assist in planning weekly student success meetings and monthly parent meetings.
