Job summary

Effingham County Sheriff's Office in Georgia is seeking a Deputy Sheriff assigned to a school environment to provide prevention education, serve as a positive role model for students, and help create a safer campus. During non-school months, the deputy works other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.

Patrols on campus, coordinates with school personnel, conducts conferences with parents, assists with drug prevention efforts, and supports safety planning and community outreach as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus POST certification.
• One year of law enforcement experience or training; knowledge working with children preferred.
• Valid Georgia driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol school campuses and respond to incidents on campus.
• Teach CHAMPS program when available and help with safety plans.
• Prepare incident reports and testify in court when required.
• Coordinate with parents, school staff, and community groups.
