Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a School Resource Officer for Muscogee YDC in Midland, GA. You will perform a full range of law enforcement duties to maintain security and order in a detention facility educational setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and Georgia P.O.S.T. Basic Mandate Law Enforcement Training. GA P.O.S.T. certification in good standing is preferred and physical fitness is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and Georgia P.O.S.T. Basic Mandate training required.
• GA P.O.S.T. peace officer certification in good standing preferred.
• Ability to meet physical agility standards and testing as required.

Responsabilités

• Perform law enforcement duties to maintain security in a detention facility educational setting.
• Provide security clearance for students entering secure areas.
• Conduct walkthroughs of classrooms, hallways and offices.
• Address disruptive, poorly dressed, late or absent students.
• Facilitate safety drills as required by the program.
• Inspect areas for contraband and safety breaches.
• Monitor security cameras and report issues promptly.
• Coordinate with supervisors and staff for student involvement.
• Plan weekly student success meetings and monthly parent meetings.
