Job summary

Narrabri West Public School in Regional NSW is seeking a School Psychologist to provide counselling and psychological assessments to support students, families and teachers. Qualifications

• Knowledge of and commitment to Aboriginal Education Policy
• General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
• WWCC clearance ( NSW)
• Current and valid driver0s license and ability to travel between sites
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency

Responsibilities

• Provides counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups.
• Performs cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments and reports results.
• Collaborates with principal, staff and support services to improve student wellbeing and learning outcomes.
• Supports students with complex behavioural needs and plans appropriate interventions.
• Works with families, carers and external agencies to develop school-based supports.
• Participates in supervision and professional development within the counselling team.
• Engages with diverse school communities across NSW Department of Education.
• Assists in responding to serious incidents as part of the school team.
