The Washoe County School District is seeking a School Police Dispatcher to handle 911 and non-emergency calls, dispatch units, and manage CAD systems. The role involves monitoring multiple radio channels, coordinating with law enforcement and district staff, and maintaining precise records under pressure.

Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma or higher and be able to obtain NCIC/CJIS certification within 90 days. Experience in a PSAP or public safety center is preferred.

Formación

• Education: High school diploma or higher; two years public safety dispatch experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain NCIC/CJIS certification within 90 days of employment.
• Proficient in CAD and radio/telephone communications; maintains calm under pressure.

Responsabilidades

• Answers and screens emergency and non-emergency calls; dispatches units per procedures.
• Documents calls in CAD; tracks unit movement and status in real time.
• Directs responses via radio/phone; coordinates multi-agency incidents.
• Maintains call logs, records, and bulletin dissemination; ensures accuracy.
• Monitors multiple channels and prioritizes high-priority dispatches.
• Performs other duties related to the position as assigned.
