City of San Diego Police Department is recruiting Dispatcher I for the Police and Fire-Rescue Departments to handle 911 and non-emergency calls. You will assess requests, determine the need for dispatch, and coordinate police, fire, or medical units from a CAD system.

The role requires passing a computer-based performance test, long shifts with potential overtime, and comprehensive background investigations including a polygraph and fingerprint check.

Qualifications

• Must pass computer-based performance test (Dispatcher I).
• Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Background investigation, polygraph examination, and fingerprint check prior to hire for Police Department positions.

Responsabilités

• Receive incoming calls and evaluate requests for Police, Fire-Rescue, Environmental, and Transportation services; dispatch appropriate units.
