Job summary

The Ewing Marion Kauffman School in Kansas City is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the operations team and coordinate essential school services. The role focuses on systems management to relieve instructional staff of non-instructional duties, enabling a focus on student achievement and staff development.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will oversee processes, budgets, events, and vendor relationships, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations in a full-time, non-exempt

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant operational experience required.
• Experience in schools, non-profit, or fast-paced environments preferred.
• Comfort with working with children and youth.
• Demonstrated project/program management experience.
• Experience in cross-functional teams and vendor collaboration.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Results-driven with operational excellence mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day school operations and operations team.
• Manage vendor relationships for facilities, custodial, food, transport, and security.
• Develop and manage operational processes, budgets, and priorities.
• Provide logistical oversight for on-campus events and field trips.
• Coordinate student transitions, lunch, bus loading/unloading as needed.
• Supervise volunteers/interns; support student health services.
• Ensure adherence to mission, vision, and strategic direction.
