Job summary

The Ewing Marion Kauffman School in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day school operations and coach the operations team. This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Director of Operations and focuses on building efficient systems that free teachers to focus on instruction.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant operational experience.
• Experience in schools, urban communities, non-profit, or fast-paced environments preferred.
• Comfort working with children and youth.
• Demonstrated project/program management experience.
• Experience with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Results-driven with a focus on operational excellence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operations team and oversee day-to-day school operations.
• Manage relationships with vendors for facilities, custodial, food services, transportation, and security.
• Develop and manage operational processes, procedures, and budgets to keep systems efficient and within budget.
• Coordinate school events, student recruitment, attendance, and supply management.
• Provide logistical oversight for on-campus events and field trips.
• Support student health services and coordinate with staff as needed.
• Oversee volunteers/interns and assist with student transitions (lunch, bus loading, etc.).
• Report to Director of Operations and collaborate with COO on priorities.
