Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1–2 years experience in foodservice; supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of USDA school meal regulations and food safety standards (HACCP).
• ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations, including preparing and cooking foods per recipes.
• Assist in supervision and training of cafeteria staff.
• Organize daily work schedules and assign tasks for timely prep and service.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations and district guidelines.
• Monitor portioning, presentation, and quality per menus.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Communicate with staff, students and the Food Service Director.
• Assist in inventory management including ordering, receiving, and storage.
• Handle minor performance issues under the Food Service Director's direction.
