Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in foodservice with supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of USDA school meal regulations and HACCP.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

• Positive attitude and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations, including preparing and cooking foods per recipes.
• Assist in supervising and training cafeteria staff.
• Organize daily work schedules and assign tasks for timely food preparation and service.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations.
• Monitor portioning, presentation, and quality for menu adherence.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and Director.
• Assist in inventory management including ordering, receiving, and storage.
• Handle minor performance issues under direction and report grievances.
• Prepare production logs and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of School Nutrition.
