Job summary

Propel Schools is seeking a Food Service Manager to oversee the network's child nutrition programs in collaboration with the Director of Food Service. This role leads a team across 25 staff and coordinates daily operations across Propel Schools.

You will monitor food safety, ordering, documentation, and compliance with NSLP, SBP, CACFP, and related requirements, while supporting contracted vendors and striving for excellent service.

Qualifications

• Experience leading school food service operations.
• Ability to train and develop staff across locations.
• Strong supervision and scheduling capabilities.
• Knowledge of federal nutrition program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee network-wide child nutrition programs in collaboration with the Director of Food Service.
• Lead and train ~25 Propel Schools food service employees and supervise day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate ordering, inventory, and vendor communications to ensure timely service and cost control.
• Monitor food safety, sanitation, documentation, and regulatory compliance across programs.
• Support contracted vendors while maintaining Propel standards and positive relationships.
• Assist with program goals, efficiency, accountability, and customer service initiatives.
