Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Food Service site lead to manage production and ensure safe, compliant meals for students across assigned sites. The role requires strong sanitation knowledge, staff training, and effective coordination of serving lines and special-diet requirements.

The position involves working within the SNS department’s calendar and budget, coordinating with site teams, and maintaining accurate records for end-of-day reporting.

Qualifications

• Must hold Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager Certification or be willing to complete a food safety exam and obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in school nutrition or foodservice preferred; knowledge of HACCP and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage production of required meals and snacks across sites.
• Determine food volumes based on site assignments and menus.
• Ensure compliance with special diet accommodations and allergies.
• Oversee serving lines and station setup; train staff and cross-train as needed.
• Maintain HACCP compliance and food safety standards.
• Record daily production, inventory, and temperature logs.
• Monitor deliveries, vendor orders, and billings; protect student confidentiality.
