Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is hiring for a part-time Food Service Worker dedicated to producing and serving meals and snacks for students. You will follow production records and recipes, manage allergens, assist with serving lines, and complete daily records to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.

The role emphasizes safeguarding student nutrition, handling USDAs HACCP practices, and maintaining records while ensuring confidentiality and accurate payments

Qualifications

• Must pass Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager license within 6 months of hire.
• Attend required food safety training course offered by the employer.
• Experience in a public school kitchen or related food service operations.
• Knowledge of government guidelines and procedures concerning sanitation and safety.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage production of all meals and snacks served to ensure correct portions by following production records and recipes.
• Handle a number of food allergens and various meat products.
• Assist with setup of serving lines and serve food.
• Complete daily production record for breakfast, lunch and snacks as instructed.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations including reimbursable meal requirements for audits.
• Ensure students with special diet accommodations receive correct meals.
• Oversee SNS computer system tasks such as entering payments, processing account info, adjustments and day-end procedures.
• Maintain operational records to comply with District and USDA guidelines and prepare low balance reports.
