Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a K-12 Food Service Coordinator responsible for producing meals and snacks in the absence of leads. You will oversee menu preparation, diet accommodations, serving line setup, and staff training at a single site as needed.

The role requires knowledge of food safety, HACCP compliance, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accurate records and confidential student information.

Qualifications

• Must hold Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager Certification or be willing to obtain within 6 months.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.
• Computer skills and experience or willingness to learn.
• Must be able to lift 31-50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Manage production of planned menu items meeting required components and portions.
• Determine prepared food volumes based on site assignment.
• Ensure students with special diets receive correct meals.
• Assist with set-up of serving lines and assign stations.
• Train staff and promote cross-training; handle allergens and meat varieties.
• Adhere to HACCP plan and health regulations.
• Oversee SNS computer system: daily numbers, payments, adjustments.
• Ensure meals meet USDA guidelines and confidentiality of student data.
• Conduct daily/ monthly reports and inventory as required.

Job Summary

• Responsible for the production of all meals/snacks in the absence of the Secondary Assistant Leads and Elementary Leads.
• Responsibilities include understanding the complexity of food preparation based on the various planned menus and the individual site equipment.
• Ability to prepare and follow standardized recipes/diverse scratch recipes.
• Oversee special diet requests

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage production of planned menu items that meet the required food components and portion sizes
• Determine prepared food volumes based on the site assignment
• Ensure that students with special diet accommodations receive the correct meals
• Assist with the set-up of serving lines and assign serving stations
• Train staff to improve performance and developmental needs employing cross-training techniques
• Responsible to handle a number of food allergens and meat varieties
• Adhere to District's HACCP plan
• Greet customers and promote the meal programs offered at the site
• Follow and ensure staff comply with health department, USDA and local, state and Federal regulations
• Perform other tasks within the level of responsibilities indicated above as assigned by the SNS Manager
• Oversee SNS computer system with the entering of daily student numbers, payments and adjustments.
• Ensure student account confidentiality, PIN numbers and eligibility status.
• Ensure all student meals claimed meet the reimbursable USDA guidelines.
• Conduct day end required reports.
• Order food/supplies from established vendors based on calculated quantities on order days
• Monitor daily food deliveries to ensure accuracy
• Complete daily food production records and equipment temperature reports
• Conduct monthly site inventory report
• Ability to work alone and be responsible for all decisions at a single site when needed.
• Follow and ensure staff comply with health department, USDA and local, state and Federal regulations

Qualifications

• Knowledge of government guidelines and procedures concerning sanitation and safety.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must hold a Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager Certification or be willing to complete a food safety exam and obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
• Computer skills and experience or willing to learn.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.
• Stooping, bending, occasional awkward positions may be necessary to perform essential functions of the position. Must be able to lift 31-50 lbs.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Experience in foodservice; preferably within a school nutrition program.
• Utilize computers, POS, calculators, department and district software programs
