Job summary

Memphis Shelby County Schools is seeking staff to assist the School Nutrition Supervisor in efficiently operating the cafeteria. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals for students and staff in a pleasant environment, while maintaining a clean and sanitary work area.

This position description reflects the primary elements of the job and may include additional duties. You will read recipes, follow schedules, and ensure safety and quality in all food service activities.

Qualifications

• Assists in preparing food items for student and staff meals following recipes and schedules.
• Monitors cooking times and temperatures to ensure safety under HACCP regulations.
• Maintains cleanliness of preparation and serving areas, equipment, and storage areas.
• Assists in stocking supplies and monitors inventory; rotates food products as scheduled.
• May serve as cashier, operating a point-of-sale terminal.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for student and staff meals following recipes and schedules.
• Monitor and record cooking times and temperatures for safety.
• Set up serving lines and maintain clean serving areas.
• Assist in stocking supplies and monitor inventory.
• May serve as cashier and operate a POS terminal.
• Uphold district and health department safety standards.
