Job summary

Shelby County Schools is seeking a Food Service Worker to assist the School Nutrition Supervisor in preparing and serving nutritious meals to students and staff, maintaining a clean, safe dining environment.

You will follow recipes, monitor temperatures for safety, set up serving lines, assist with stocking and inventory, and, when needed, operate a POS terminal. Commitment to quality and sanitation is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Background check must be passed and TB test negative.
• Six months of quantity food preparation or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for students and staff as scheduled.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures for safety and HACCP compliance.
• Set up serving lines and maintain cleanliness of serving areas.
• Stock supplies and monitor inventory; rotate food products as needed.
• May operate a point-of-sale terminal and assist customers as required.
