Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess or obtain a Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment.
• Three years experience in food preparation in a food service setting or as a helper in Child Nutrition.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of main dishes, vegetables, and baked goods using standard equipment.
• Inspect, clean, and sanitize equipment and work area.
• Supervise Child Nutrition Helpers in equipment maintenance and storage.
• Ensure quality and presentation of food items per Texas Public School Nutrition Policy.
• Record amounts of food prepared and leftovers; properly store or dispose of food.
