Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking staff to assist with food preparation and cashier duties in the cafeteria. You will follow safety rules, operate kitchen equipment, and help maintain cleanliness and efficiency of service lines.

Responsibilities include stocking supplies, serving meals, and following district policies. Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills are needed, along with a Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain one within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must possess current Food Handler's Card or obtain one within 30 days.
• Ability to learn and follow prescribed preparation methods for food and supplies.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Valid Texas/NM driver's license/ID; subject to district drug and alcohol screening.
• Must be insurable by the district's auto liability insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and cashier duties as assigned.
• Operate large and small kitchen equipment after instruction.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and kitchen equipment.
• Serve meals on service line with guidance on portion sizes.
• Follow cleaning, maintenance, and attendance schedules.
• Perform routine cleaning including floors, work areas and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures for lifting and handling trash/food products.
• Unpack supplies and stock dry storage and refrigeration shelves.
• Demonstrate punctuality, reliability and time efficiency.
