Job summary

schoolsupportapply-scsk12 is seeking a cafeteria helper to support the School Nutrition Supervisor. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals for students and staff in a clean, safe environment, following menus and recipes to ensure quality.

Duties include cooking, assembling bag lunches, serving lines, cashier tasks, and maintaining sanitation. You will monitor temps, stock supplies, enter data, attend trainings, and provide courteous service while complying with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must pass a background check and TB test.
• Six months of quantity food preparation or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for students and staff, following menus and recipes.
• Read and follow recipes, assemble ingredients and utensils, cook and serve.
• Assemble bag lunches and prepare snacks for school programs.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures for safety per HACCP.
• Set up serving lines and maintain clean serving areas and equipment.
• Stock supplies and monitor inventory, rotate food products.
• May serve as cashier and operate a point-of-sale terminal.
• Comply with school, district and health department policies.
• Prepare accurate work records and may enter data.
• Attend trainings and meetings to maintain skills.
• Provide courteous service to customers and staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
