Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a CNS Assistant to support the Child Nutrition Services in a nine-month, hourly classified role. You will assist in food preparation and serving, maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen, and help ensure compliance with the National School Lunch Program.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, strong English communication, knowledge of health and safety standards, and safe use of commercial kitchen equipment. Health department food handler’s card is required.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to lift and carry 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• English proficiency to communicate with staff and supervisor.
• Understanding of health and safety standards.
• Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and serving from the line.
• Replenish serving line and salad bar as needed.
• Count and record food portions.
• Follow procedures for the National School Lunch Program.
• Prepare and clean counters, tables, and kitchen surfaces.
• Wash and sterilize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Shelve and store food, supplies, and dishes.
• Attend in-service meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
