Qualifications

• Must hold a current valid Massachusetts RN license.
• 1–2 years in child health, community health, or related field; 3 years in school nursing preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• DOE certification eligibility (BE/BSN required).

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate students' health, counsel on health problems.
• Maintain health records and evaluate school health programs.
• Coordinate health resources with school, home, and community partners.
• Develop individual health care plans and coordinate with providers.
• Provide emergency care for students and staff on school premises.
• Administer prescribed medications with parent/guardian consent.
• Conduct mandated screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, height/weight).
• Document information per HIPAA/FERPA regulations.
• Notify parents, staff, and physicians of health concerns.
• Participate in school health activities with Principal/Supervisor.
