Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group, LLC seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Danbury, NC for the 26/27 school year. This full-time role supports a K-12 district with private duty/1:1 nursing services.

You will work with experienced clinicians, implement health plans, and provide essential nursing support within the school setting, ensuring student safety and confidentiality while collaborating with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina.
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Experience with pediatric population and school-based nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of assigned student throughout the school day.
• Implement and monitor student health plans.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities as needed.
• Communicate significant status changes to family, school staff, and clinical leadership.
• Provide first aid, daily medical care, and emergency support.
• Maintain student confidentiality per FERPA and HIPAA.

Job description

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Danbury, NC for the 26/27 school year! This is a full-time position supporting a local K-12 district with private duty/1:1 nursing services.

Working with The Stepping Stones Group means consistent pay, clinical backing from experienced nurses, and support from a team that understands school-based nursing - not just staffing.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
  • Tube feedings and management
  • Oxygen and airway management
  • Trach care
  • Medication administration
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment
• Experience working with Pediatric population
• School-based nursing experience preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, therapists, and healthcare providers
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Prior school-based experience highly preferred

WHAT YOU'LL DO
