Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Easton, MD for the 26/27 school year. This full-time position supporting a local K-12 district with private duty/1:1 nursing services.

You will work with a team that values clinical backing, emergency readiness, and ongoing professional growth, including licensure reimbursements and access to CEUs. The compensation is $35-$43 per hour on a W-2 contract in Easton.

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Maryland.
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Demonstrated competency in pediatric skills, medication administration, assessment, and independent work in non-clinical settings.
• Preferred: school-based nursing experience; trach/vent management; seizure management; tube feedings; pediatric diabetic care; oxygen/airway management; catheterization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the assigned student.
• Implement and monitor student health plans.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities.
• Communicate significant status changes to family, school staff, and clinical leadership.
• Provide first aid, daily medical care, and emergency support.
• Maintain student confidentiality per FERPA and HIPAA requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Active RN license valid in Maryland
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
  • Pediatric skillset
  • Medication administration
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment
• Preferred:
  • School-based nursing experience
  • Trach/vent management
  • Seizure management - competent with seizure action plans and rescue medications
  • Tube feedings
  • Pediatric diabetic care
  • Oxygen and airway management
  • Catheterization

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, therapists, and healthcare providers
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
