Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a food-service supervisor for school lunchrooms to oversee daily operations, ensure nutritious meals, and maintain compliance with HACCP and NSLP standards. The role includes supervising staff, forecasting needs, and maintaining accurate records.

Candidates must hold a valid Chicago Department of Public Health Certified Food Service Manager certificate and be able to establish Illinois residency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid Chicago Department of Public Health Certified Food Service Manager Certificate.
• Resident of Illinois and able to establish Chicago residency within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lunchroom personnel and participate in the preparation of food items.
• Ensure food is prepared according to menu, recipes and production records.
• Follow NSLP, ISBE and Nutrition Support Services guidelines and complete required paperwork.
• Forecast food needs and manage inventories and ordering.
• Conduct daily meetings, provide training, and prepare staff work schedules.
• Maintain logs for temperatures, deliveries, and production records.
