Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager at Leman Academy of Excellence to support daily meal prep and oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Kitchen Manager. You will assist in staff training and ensure food safety standards are met across district cafeterias.

The role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and adherence to district policies, with responsibilities spanning inventory, scheduling, and coordination with site staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily food preparation and food service operations.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff as directed by manager.
• Lead and direct employees in the absence of the Kitchen Manager.
• Maintain health, sanitation and HACCP compliance.
• Assist with inventory, ordering and food safety procedures.
