Job summary

Amber Charter Schools seeks an HR & Talent Associate to provide administrative and operational support to the People Team across HR and Talent functions. The role manages careers and HR inboxes, screens applicants, and coordinates each step of the hiring cycle, guiding candidates through pre-employment compliance and onboarding, with UKG and Greenhouse integration.

Reporting to the Talent Manager, the Associate will work with the People Team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required (minimum stated).
• 6 months of administrative coordination or office experience.
• Ability to work on-site at rotating network locations a minimum of twice a week and/or as needed.
• Impeccable attention to detail and accurate data-entry in high-volume environments.
• Excellent written and oral communication; tailor messaging for diverse learners.
• Integrity, professionalism and confidentiality in HR data handling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace tools.
• Strong team player with initiative and ability to work independently.
• Pre-employment fingerprinting and reference checks completed.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage the careers and HR inboxes, respond promptly and professionally while maintaining confidentiality.
• Guide candidates through each stage of the hiring process and onboarding.
• Review applications and Spark Hire screenings against minimum qualifications; advance qualified candidates.
• Move candidates through the Greenhouse applicant tracking system and coordinate interviews.
• Attend career fairs and recruitment events and support logistics.
• Guide candidates through pre-employment compliance including fingerprinting, certifications, and education verification.
• Add new hires to UKG and Greenhouse Onboarding; verify I-9 and create personnel files.
• Support time-off inquiries in UKG and payroll preparation.
• Maintain confidential employee data and assist with HR compliance trainings and employment verification requests.
• May assume other tasks as assigned by the Talent Manager.
