Job summary

Darlington County School District is seeking a Food Service/Refrigeration Repairman for a 260-day position. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and preventive maintenance of food service equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, stoves, ovens, steamers, warmers and fryers.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid South Carolina driver's license, and knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
• Knowledge and experience of HVAC, electrical and plumbing practices.
• Experience with commercial food service equipment (refrigerators, ice machines, gas stoves & ovens, steamers, warmers, fryers).

Responsibilities

• Maintains neat appearance, courteous conduct with school and maintenance personnel.
• Maintain repair of food service refrigeration/freezer equipment.
• Repair cafeteria equipment and provide updates on work orders.
• Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for all food service equipment.
• Order parts and supplies per district purchasing guidelines.
• Conduct in-service training on cleaning and daily maintenance of equipment.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours equipment failures to ensure service continuity.
• Participate in additional training provided by the Board of Education.
• Possesses knowledge of materials and equipment relating to this field.
• Maintain a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
