Job summary

Spokane R7 School District is seeking a Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming school environments. Responsibilities include general cleaning, floor care, restroom sanitation, snow and ice management, deliveries, and assisting with events.

Under the supervision of the building Principal, you will perform maintenance tasks, operate cleaning equipment, and help ensure secure facilities at opening and closing times. Prior cleaning experience is desirable; a High School Diploma is typical.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to perform the duties of the position.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• [State] Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds.
• Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices and other areas to district standards.
• Operates floor cleaning and waxing machines and related equipment.
• Clears snow from entrances, spreads sand and ice-melting chemicals.
• Receives deliveries and assists in unloading and storing supplies.
• Assists parents and visitors during events and programs.
