Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Custodian to keep school facilities clean, safe and orderly. Duties include sweeping, mopping, disinfecting restrooms, moving furniture, setting up spaces for events and minor maintenance.

Shifts may vary to cover early morning, day, evening or night hours during the school year. Ideal candidates will have at least six months of reliable work history, basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills, and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of experience demonstrating reliability and good work habits.
• Reading, writing and basic arithmetic sufficient to perform duties.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods and equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax floors and clean various surfaces.
• Vacuum, dust, wash walls, restrooms and fixtures; restock supplies.
• Move furniture, set up rooms for events; secure doors and alarms.
• Perform minor maintenance and report needed repairs.
