Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Custodian under Education Support Professionals. The role involves cleaning, securing rooms, minor maintenance, and supporting after-hours emergencies.

Shifts may include early morning, morning, afternoon, evening, or night during the school year. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing restrooms, setting up rooms for events, reporting repairs, and assisting with summer restoration projects.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience demonstrating reliability and good work habits.
• Knowledge of reading, writing and basic arithmetic sufficient to perform job duties.
• Skill at understanding and carrying out oral and written instructions; learning cleaning methods.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and operate cleaning equipment; climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, shampoos, and wax floors; vacuum rugs and clean furniture.
• Dust, wax, wash and polish furniture; sanitize restrooms and showers; restock supplies.
• Move furniture; set up rooms for events; ensure doors/windows are secured and alarms on.
• Perform minor maintenance and report repairs; assist with summer cleaning/restoration.
