Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Custodian to keep building areas clean, secure rooms, and perform routine cleaning and light maintenance. The role may involve early morning, afternoon, or evening shifts during the school year.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing restrooms, moving furniture for events, and reporting repairs. Applicants must have six months of reliable experience and a Nevada license or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of experience demonstrating reliability, responsibility and good work habits.
• Knowledge of reading, writing and basic arithmetic sufficient to perform job duties and cleaning materials, methods and equipment.
• Skill at understanding and carrying out oral and written instructions; performing strenuous physical work; working under time constraints and without immediate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, shampoo, and wax floors and clean various surfaces; vacuum rugs and clean fixtures and furniture.
• Move furniture and equipment and set up rooms for events and meetings; ensure doors/windows are secured and alarms are set.
• Perform minor maintenance such as replacing lights, painting small areas, and reporting needed repairs; assist with outdoor upkeep as needed.
• Participate in intensive summer cleaning and restoration of district buildings, including painting and floor sealing.
